    The Ferndale City Council will hold a special meeting on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, beginning at 3:45pm at Ferndale City Hall, 834 Main Street, Ferndale. This is an in person meeting. Those wishing to comment of ask questions should plan on attending. Comments on agenda items may be submitted to the City Clerk by 12:00pm on the date of the scheduled meeting. Comments will be forwarded to the City Council prior to the meeting Special City Council meetings are recorded (Not during any Closed Session agenda items) and a video of the meeting is available by request. Videos are downloaded to dropbox and a link to the video can be requested. A USB drive or Compact Disc is also available for a fee. Videos are generally available by the Monday following the meeting.   • PLANNING COMMISSION PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE 12/3/2025

    NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ferndale Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on December 3, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at 834 Main Street, Ferndale, CA 95536 for the following item: 1. Approval of a proposed Lot Line Adjustment (LLA) to adjust the property lines between two existing adjoining parcels. The LLA proposes to add approximately 3,485 square feet of undeveloped area from Parcel A to Parcel B. Parcel A is developed with a detached single family residence, and accessory structures, and Parcel B is not developed. The purpose of the LLA is to enable better positioning of a new home that is to be built in the future on Parcel B. The applicants are not seeking approvals for the construction of a residence or other structures as part of this LLA application. Parcel A is served by City sewer and Del Oro Water Co. water, and these water and sewer services are available for Parcel B. Both parcels are located in the city of Ferndale, and the LLA applicants, Andrew and Sandralin Westfall, own both parcels. A finding of exemption of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is recommended pursuant to Section 15305 of the CEQA Guidelines, Minor Alterations in Land Use Limitations, of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations. The public is invited to attend the meeting and provide testimony. Comments can also be sent to cityclerk@ci.ferndale.ca.us by 12:00pm on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Comments will be forwarded to the Commission for their consideration. This City endeavors to be ADA compliant. Should you require assistance with written information or access to the facility, or a hearing amplification, please call (707) 786-4224 24 hours prior to the meeting.

  • City Council Special Meeting 11/18/2025

    The City Council will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 at 6:00pm. This meeting will be to honor the retirement of City Manager Jay Parrish. This is an in person meeting. Those wishing to comment should plan on attending.

    There are many events in Ferndale throughout the year. We are proud to have such a dedicated Chamber of Commerce and especially lucky to be home to the Humboldt County Fairgrounds. December is a unique and beautiful time to visit Ferndale. There are many special events to enjoy and it is an absolute beautiful display of lights and Victorian charm.   • RUSS PARK NEW TRAILHEAD RIBBON CUTTING CEREMONY 10/21/2025

    There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony for Russ Park’s new trailhead opening on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 3:00pm. The ceremony will take place at the Eugene Street entrance at the new “Berry Run” trail. Anyone is welcome to attend this ceremony. Parking is limited so please carpool if possible. Also, please watch for pedestrian traffic.

  • MAIN STREET ROAD CLOSURE FOR FILMING

    PLEASE BE ADVISED…due to filming activity on the 300 block of Main Street (Brown Street to Ocean Ave) is scheduled to be closed during the following dates and times: Monday, October 13, 2025 12:30pm-12:30am Wednesday, October 15, 2025 3:00pm – 12:30am Thursday, October 16, 2025 6:00pm – 6:00am Monday, October 20, 2025 5:30pm – 4:00am Tuesday, October 21, 2025 5:30pm – 5:30am Ocean Ave at Main Street will be closed during takes. Most filming is due to take place at night. There should be no loud noises (ie explosions, screaming, yelling), however, there will be some disruption.
