  • CITY COUNCIL MEETING 02/18/2026

    The Ferndale City Council will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, beginning at 6:00pm at Ferndale City Hall, 834 Main Street, Ferndale. This is an in person meeting. Those wishing to comment of ask questions should plan on attending. Comments on agenda items may be submitted to the City Clerk by 12:00pm on the date of the scheduled meeting. Comments will be forwarded to the City Council prior to the meeting Regular City Council meetings are recorded and a video of the meeting is available by request. Videos are downloaded to dropbox and a link to the video can be requested. A USB drive or Compact Disc is also available for a fee. Videos are generally available by the Monday following the meeting. The agenda and packet can be viewed and downloaded by clicking the link below. You may also contact City Hall and have the packet emailed.   • CITY OF FERNDALE EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY – CITY CLERK

    The City of Ferndale is now accepting application packets for the position of City Clerk. Application Packets can be downloaded under the Employment tab on the Ferndale City Website or click City Clerk Application Packet and be automatically taken to the packet. The City of Ferndale is an equal opportunity employer. Anyone interested in this position should complete the application packet by the first review period, March 12, 2026 at 4:00pm. If position is not filled after the first review period, a second review period will be announced and additional application packets will be taken.

  • SANDBAGS & SAND AVAILABLE

    Sand and Sandbags are available toward the end of Francis Street near the Francis Street Bridge. Please note that the city will not longer be able to constantly supply shovels due to excessive removal in the past. Shovels may or may not be available at the sand pile. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS… – Additional rounds of heavy rain are likely again starting tonight and continuing through Friday night. An additional 4-8 inches of total precipitation is possible through Friday. There will be breaks in the heavy precipitation, but heavy rain falling on already saturated ground will promote flooding impacts.     Southwestern Humboldt-Southern Humboldt Interior- Including Shelter Cove, Whitethorn, Briceland, Ettersburg, Pepperwood, Benbow, Garberville, Shively, Kneeland, Petrolia, Alderpoint, Bridgeville, Bull Creek, Dinsmore, and Honeydew 204 PM PST Mon Dec 22 2025 …HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM TUESDAY TO 8 AM PST WEDNESDAY… * WHAT…Southeast winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 70 mph expected. * WHERE…Southern Humboldt. * WHEN…From 7 PM Tuesday to 8 AM PST Wednesday. * IMPACTS…Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Wind gusts will be particularly strong along windward ridges and exposed coastal headlands. There is an increased risk of tree branches and other debris on roadways. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… People are urged to secure loose objects that could be blown around or damaged by the wind. Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.
