Notice is hereby given that a general municipal election will be held in the City of Ferndale on Tuesday, November 3, 2020 for the following offices:
Office: Member Ferndale City Council
Number to be elected: Two (2)
Length of Term: Full Term for Four (4) years
Office: Mayor, City of Ferndale
Number to be elected: One (1)
Length of Term: Full Term for Two (2) years
Information on the election may be obtained at the Ferndale City Hall at 834 Main Street, Ferndale, CA. The filing period for nomination papers is 7/13/20 to 8/07/20; however, since City Hall is closed on Friday, nomination papers will be accepted until 4pm on 8/06/20. If no incumbent runs, the filing period will be extended five days from 8/7/20, with nomination papers accepted until 4pm 8/12/20. Nomination papers must be filed at Ferndale City Hall. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, you may be required to make an appointment with the City Clerk to file nomination papers.
If no one or only one person is nominated for an elective office, appointment to the elective office may be made as prescribed by Section 10229, Elections Code of the State of California.
Due to COVID-19, Governor Newsom issued an executive order which orders the November 3, 2020 General Election to be conducted as an all-mail ballot election. Accordingly, all registered voters in California will receive a vote-by-mail ballot in the mail prior to the election
