The Ferndale City Council will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 beginning at 6:00pm at Ferndale City Hall, 834 Main Street, Ferndale. This is an in person meeting. Those wishing to comment of ask questions should plan on attending. City Council meetings are recorded and a video of the meeting is available by request. Videos are downloaded to dropbox and a link to the video can be requested. A USB drive or Compact Disc is also available for a fee. Videos are generally available by the Monday following the meeting. The Ferndale Planning Commission will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 beginning at 6:00pm at Ferndale City Hall, 834 Main Street, Ferndale. This is an in person meeting. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING – PLANNING COMMISSION 01/08/2025
PUBLIC NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Ferndale Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on January 8, 2025, at 6:00pm at 834 Main Street, Ferndale, CA 95536 for the following item: 1. Proposed Lot Line Adjustment (LLA) to add approximately 4,030 square feet of undeveloped area from the Detlefsen parcel to the Cory parcel. Both parcels are located in the City of Ferndale. The Cory parcel is located at 724 Vanston Street (APN 030-141-012), and is approximately 6,200 square feet in size. The Detlefsen parcel is located on the northerly side of Fern Avenue, approximately 225 feet northwest of the intersection of Main Street and Fern Avenue; it is approximately 2.61 acres in size, and does not have an assigned street address at this time (APN 030-141-016). Parcel sizes before and after the LLA: Cory parcel: ±6,200 sq. ft.(before) and ±10,230 sq. t. (after) Detlefsen parcel: ±2.61 acres (before) and ±2.52 acres (after). The LLA is being proposed to increase the size of the Cory parcel to allow for the construction of an ADU/garage structure in the future. The Cory parcel is currently developed with a detached single family residence, and the Detlefsen parcel is developed with a 1,420 square foot barn and 295 square foot garage/shed. The Cory parcel is currently served by community water and sewer, and the Detlefsen is within the service areas for City sewer and Del Oro water. No new development is proposed as part of this LLA application. A finding of exemption of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) is recommended pursuant to Section 15305 of the CEQA Guidelines, Minor Alterations in Land Use Limitations, of Title 14 of the California Code of Regulations. The public is invited to attend the meeting and provide testimony. Comments can also be sent to cityclerk@ci.ferndale.ca.us by 12:00pm on Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Comments will be forwarded to the Commission for their consideration.
